The Harmonizer July 2007 article on Brigade Extreme Quartetting

Spine-Tingling Lock-'n'-Ring!

Wall-to-wall Extreme Quartetting is the number one fun activity at Brigade Rallies. Over a hundred members and guests arrive at weekend Rallies fully prepared to quartet that year's assigned repertoire ... 10 or 12 arrangements specially selected to maximize the challenge and excitement of the weekend.
A primary cornerstone of Brigade is fun ... The more, the better! The main activity on Friday night is a one-song quartet contest. Random draws are held both for who's in each quartet and for the song each is to perform in the contest. All Brigade members and registered guests participate in the contest. On Saturday, amid much informal quartetting, the singers gather to form the Brigade Chorus (check it out-a chorus of over 100 quartetters!), the featured act on the Saturday night general admission show. Post-show and pre-pizza, the random-draw quartet finals are held, followed by more informal quartetting 'til the last tenor drops!
The weekend camaraderie is nothing short of magical! Each man prepares with pride, and quartets all the songs from the easiest to the most challenging. Just think, your name doesn't have to be Metzger, Barnick, Kline, Guyton, Slamka, Joe or Yoda to participate!
